 B. Hood was a Confederate general during the American Civil War, known for
  his aggressive and bold tactics. Born in Kentucky on June 29, 1831, he gr
 aduated from West Point and served in the U.S. Army before joining the Con
 federacy. Hood fought in major battles such as Gettysburg and Chickamauga 
 and became commander of the Army of Tennessee in 1864. His leadership duri
 ng the Atlanta Campaign and the Franklin-Nashville Campaign resulted in he
 avy Confederate losses. After the war, he moved to Louisiana, started a bu
 siness, and wrote his memoirs. He died in 1879 from yellow fever.</p></bod
