Philip Livingston (1716 - 1778) was an American merchant and statesman from New York and a signer of the Declaration of Independence. Born on January 15, 1716, he served in the Continental Congress, where he supported the movement for independence from Great Britain. Livingston came from a prominent family and used his business and political experience to help guide the early efforts of the new nation.
