John Quincy Adams was the 6th President of the United States, serving from 1825 to 1829. Born on July 11, 1767, he was the son of President John Adams and a skilled diplomat and statesman. Before becoming president, he served as a U.S. senator, ambassador, and Secretary of State, where he helped write the Monroe Doctrine. His presidency focused on modernization and national development but faced strong opposition, leading to a single term. After leaving office, he served in the House of Representatives for 17 years, becoming a leading voice against slavery. He died in 1848 while still serving in Congress.
