Born on July 28, 1929 in New York, she was known for her elegance, style, and dedication to arts and culture. As First Lady, she worked to restore the White House and promote American history. After President Kennedy’s assassination in 1963, she became a symbol of strength and grace. She later married Greek shipping magnate Aristotle Onassis and worked as a book editor in New York. Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis died in 1994.
