William Paca was born on October 31, 1740, in Abington, Maryland. He was a lawyer, judge, and politician who became one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. Paca served as a delegate to the Continental Congress and later helped draft Maryland's state constitution. He went on to become the third governor of Maryland and was later appointed as a federal judge by President George Washington. William Paca died on October 23, 1799, leaving a legacy as a dedicated patriot and public servant.
