National Flag Day |
Flag Day in the United States is celebrated on June 14 each year. It commemorates the adoption of the American flag on June 14, 1777, by the Second Continental Congress. The flag, often called the "Stars and Stripes," symbolizes the nation's history, values, and unity. While Flag Day is not a federal holiday, it is observed with ceremonies, parades, and displays of the American flag across the country. President Woodrow Wilson officially established Flag Day in 1916, and in 1949, Congress designated it as a national observance.
