Richard Henry Lee (1732 - 1794) was an American statesman and Founding Father from Virginia. Born on January 20th, 1732, he is best known for introducing the 1776 resolution in the Continental Congress calling for independence from Great Britain. Lee also served as a delegate to the Continental Congress and later as a U.S. senator, contributing to the early political foundations of the United States.
