Charles Lindbergh (February 4, 1902 - August 26, 1974) was an American aviator best known for completing the first solo nonstop transatlantic flight in 1927, flying from New York to Paris in the Spirit of St. Louis. Lindbergh later became a controversial figure for his political views before World War II but remained influential in aviation and conservation.
