William J. Clinton, also known as Bill Clinton, was the 42nd President of the United States, serving from 1993 to 2001. Born on August 19, 1946 in Hope, Arkansas, he was a Rhodes Scholar and earned a law degree from Yale University. Before becoming president, he served as the Governor of Arkansas. His presidency was marked by strong economic growth, welfare reform, and the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). Clinton was impeached by the House of Representatives in 1998 over the Monica Lewinsky scandal but was acquitted by the Senate and completed his term. After leaving office, he remained active in global humanitarian work through the Clinton Foundation.
